Family Counseling Program

War and Trauma not only impacts the Warriors, but it also affects those who love and care about them. As a family member, you may be living with the effects of combat- related stress, which can come in many different forms such as:

  • Emotional numbing
  • Startle reactions - to noise-motion-touch
  • Irritability, easily angered
  • Difficulty sleeping, nightmares
  • Intrusive memories
  • Increased use of alcohol and drugs
  • Decreases sense of emotional closeness to those you love
  • Increased conflicts in relationships

The Pathway Home is committed to working with each Warrior who is a participant in our residential treatment program and his family members. To assist the Warrior and his family toward healing, The Pathway Home offers Family Counseling. Your family may include spouse, children, parents, siblings, or any significant others that are interested in supporting the Warrior. When the Warrior comes to The Pathway Home, we will sit down with him and discuss treatment options. The Warrior and the treatment team will assess whether family counseling will be beneficial to your family. Accommodations for families to participate in their loved one's treatment will be available on site for short stays. If you have relationship concerns related to a Warrior who is participating in our residential program please call us at (707) 948-3033.
